'Collections'

The title of this exhibition encompasses my life long enjoyment of hobbies.  Collecting various objects from glass, flowers, antiques and found objects.  Using also Carlisle, the people, history and scenery around the area for inspiration.

From my earliest recollections art has been my main interest.

Walking around Carlisle in the Spring to Autumn of 2006 with my dog as companion, I have drawn every location possible, of which some will be shown.  Following all the rivers, covering the entire circumference of Carlisle to find many unusual and interesting views.  The simple pleasures of watching my daughter playing in Bitts Park and sitting painting on the river bank with my dog.

The pictures are a culmination of a years drawings.  Highly time consuming, with a great sense of achievement when producing something that is so personal.

Texture forms and a delicacy of line combine to give depth and movement.

24 years of developing my own handwriting, using rich, brush, sponge, pen and any other mark making tools I have come across.
