Art has always played a part in my life right from when I was a small child and throughout my school years.  I had hoped to enrol in Art College on leaving school but went into engineering as a career instead.  I did however become fairly well practiced in engineering drawing while at college, which I enjoyed immensely and helped improve my drawing skills.  Since then I have had a paintbrush in my hand at one time or another painting mostly as a hobby.

It is within the past twenty years, when I ended my career as an engineer, I have been able to take my art more seriously occasionally turning out work for sale in conjunction with my other business with my wife Susan.  It has been Susan’s success within the past two years which has encouraged me to produce gallery pictures in a period where I have more time to concentrate on this type of work.

I have always admired and enjoyed many artists’ work not singling out anyone in particular having influenced my own work.  I look at and appreciate art from the past right up to the present day, but what always fascinates me is how the clever use of a few brush strokes and the application of paint combined with the skills of the artist can form a piece of art which is visually stimulating and sometimes thought provoking.

I enjoy painting and I enjoy being part of the art world, although in a small way.  My art is simple there are no hidden messages or meaning behind the images I create.  I just paint to give visual pleasure; if I have achieved this I will be very happy.
