Nanette Madan

Nanette loves the richness and the feel of oils and works slowly, gradually layering on the colours of the background, adding twinkling stars, swirling smoke, rolling hills and her signature spiralling curves, which are so enticing.

Nanette's first love is being an artist.   She was born in London but spent the first 10 years of her life in Sweden.  Then lived in Singapore, where her artistic talents were nurtured by her very inspiring art teacher, a professional artist.  She studied biology and biochemistry at Bangor in North Wales and went on to do a PhD, with her subsequent post-doc work taking her to the icy ends of the world, the Arctic and Antarctic.

Nanette and her husband moved to Gosforth, Cumbria in 2005.
