Julie Dumbarton
Julie graduated from Loughborough College of Art and Design in 1996 having studied Fine Arts Degree Painting. Her paintings are all landscapes, predominantly Cumbrian and Scottish, and have been widely exhibited across Great Britain as well as further afield.
Julie would describe her landscapes as places of calmness and solitude, where one would like to sit, contemplate and relax, but at the same time enjoy the scenery. Julie's work does not represent a particular place or time, more a combination of places seen, visited and enjoyed. They are places of calmness and solitude, where one would sit, relax and contemplate. Julie's unique vision of recollected patterns and tangible traces within the landscape along with her mark producing sensual and intensified fields of colour.
Having moved from Cumbria to the Scottish Borders in early 2004, Julie's work has changed to incorporate the flora and fauna found in this unique environment.
